Ferdinand Wegrostek
F. Wegrostek has recently dealt with mathematical-statistical aspects of archery.
For example with questions: What result is expected for a WA 1440 (FITA) round,
if you only know results from one shooting distance?
Or what is the hit and miss probability for each of the ten rings of the target face,
dependent on various archer’s skill levels? Inspired by publications of the Australian
J. L. Park on archery theory Wegrostek and B. Kolmanz created computer-based applications
that allow predictions of tournament results based on training results.
For the first time, the use and the benefit of the statistical confidence intervals for the predicted scores
will be explained in more details by using examples.
Thus, for example, a training progress can be distinguished and recognized from
random performance fluctuations within the personal skill level with greater security.
The reports related to above topic are helpful for archers and coaches!
